Ever dreamt of reaching the hilltop but gave up due to exhaustion, long queues, or lack of time? What if you could just sit and glide your way to the top? Well, China is definitely doing what we couldn't even imagine, turning that dream into reality. Dana Wang, a travel content creator, has shared the video on her Instagram account, which shows an escalator installed on a scenic mountain spot in China in order to allow tourists to enjoy the landscape without having to deal with the difficulties of climbing.

The video begins with Ms Wang saying that she is on a vacation in China and then turns her camera to the boardwalk, explaining that instead of walking up, visitors are paying 10 yuan (approx. Rs 115) to reach the uphill. She said the visitors receive a mat to sit on, allowing them to ride a sitting escalator all the way up to the top of the hill. The clip shows dozens of people comfortably seated, gliding uphill. The text on the video reads, "Would you walk 3 min uphill or pay $1.40 for the sitting escalator?" She captioned the video, "First time seeing a sitting escalator for a small hill. When I saw the line at first, I thought it was a ride, but it was an escalator—but a seated version!"
Ms Wang also mentioned that she chose to walk up via the boardwalk, which took her 2-3 minutes. She stated that it wasn't steep, but the sitting escalator seemed to be more popular among tourists. "I think this is great for those with low mobility and with disabilities, so they can enjoy the view too but also for those who are feeling a bit lazy!" she added. Also Read: This Travel Vlogger's "Global Selfies" With His Dogs Are Making Waves On Internet
The video quickly went viral, with many people appreciating the concept, especially as it is very useful for the elderly. While some commented that the walk wasn't long enough, others loved the idea and wished to experience the sitting escalator.
One person commented, "I would utterly unashamedly sit with the grandpas and grandmas. Also, it looks super fun. East Asia is beating the rest of the world in innovations in convenience. Impressive!"
Another wrote, "Haha love this... I would definitely pick this option over walking up."
"This is lovely, actually. My mom has difficulty walking and this would be so helpful," commented another user.

Well, this is not the first time China has come up with such innovation. Last year in August, it installed a 350-meter-long escalator for visitors to climb Tianyu Mountain in Zhejiang Province. This escalator reduces the travel time, allowing visitors to reach the top in about 10 minutes, compared to the previous 50-minute hike.
