For all the hate around Deepika Padukone's upcoming Padmavati, there's a strong force of support and love from the 31-year-old actress' fans. Deepika instagrammed a picture of herself dancing to Ghoomar during the film's ongoing promotion, which gave some trolls an opportunity to spread hatred about the film and Deepika. But the trolls were roundly shut-up by her fans who overpowered the debate rampant in the comments section of Deepika's post. Few Twitter users slammed Deepika and threatened to wreak havoc if the film releases in theatres. Her fans said: "We are with you."

Rajput Karni Sena and other Rajput outfits are protesting against the release of Padmavati. They've alleged that director Sanjay leela Bhansali has misrepresented facts and distorted historical narratives while making the film.

Members of the Rajput outfit had attacked Mr Bhansali earlier this year while he was shooting in Jaipur and later in Mumbai. On both occasions the sets were also vandalized. The protests gained momentum when the promotional material of the film made it way on the social media. The protesters have also threatened to harm Mr Bhansali and Deepika.

Several celebrities and cine-associations have also supported Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Padmavati is based on the story of Rani Padmini, who performed jauhar to evade capture from Alauddin Khilji and his army after they breeched the fort of Chittor. Actor Ranveer Singh plays the role of Alauddin Khilji while Shahid Kapoor plays the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh.

Padmavati is scheduled for December 1 release.
