International websites seem to be closely following all the developments related to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' rumoured romance. People Magazine and E! News had earlier reported that Priyanka and Nick got engaged in London in July, after having dated for a couple of months. Now, it is believed that their engagement party will be hosted by the Chopras over the weekend in Mumbai. E! News reports that Nick and his family are travelling to India for the party. "Nick Jonas and his immediate family are traveling to India this weekend to attend an engagement party hosted by Priyanka's family. It's going to be the first time that their families intermingle and get to know each other," a source told E! News.
Priyanka is already in India, where she is currently busy with her project, tentatively titled The Sky Is Pink. Nick reportedly proposed to Priyanka on her 36th birthday in London.
"It's a tradition for them to meet before the wedding and Priyanka's family insisted on hosting the Jonas family in their country. Priyanka wants everything to be traditional to respect her family's values, and definitely an Indian wedding. Priyanka and Nick are excited for everyone to meet and to celebrate. Everything is very secretive but guests are expected to head there starting tomorrow. All of the plans are moving quickly and Priyanka and Nick do not want to have a long engagement," the source told E! News.
Weeks ago, when Priyanka dropped out of Salman Khan's Bharat, for a 'very special reason,' it was believed that she might have quit the film to marry Nick Jonas and later, reports of the duo being already engaged featured in headlines.
Priyanka and her family had previously hosted Nick Jonas in Mumbai during their brief trip in June. Priyanka, her cousin Parineeti also took Nick to Goa and later, he attended an Ambani party.
Though there is no official confirmation about the rumoured engagement, but a response by Nick on being congratulated had sent the Internet into a meltdown and just yesterday, a picture of Priyanka and her stunning diamond ring from designer Manish Malhotra's party, kept folks busy.
US Weekly reported that at an event in New York, when a fan congratulated Nick, he responded, "Thanks man!"
And, this was Priyanka's picture, which the Internet believes is her engagement ring.
Nick Jonas, 25, had reportedly shut down an entire Tiffany's store in New York to pick out Priyanka Chopra's ring. Another E! News report states that Priyanka's ring has a value of around $200,000. "Priyanka's ring is a high quality cushion cut weighing around 4 carats. It looks to be somewhere around a G color, VS1 clarity which, from Tiffany & Co, would have a value of around $200,000," Andrew Brown, President, WP Diamonds told E! News.
