Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to introduce the XUV 7XO in the Indian market on January 5, 2026. Before the official event, the brand announced that the pre-bookings for the upcoming SUV will begin at 12:00 PM on December 15, 2025. The prospective consumers can reserve their units via their preferred dealerships and choose their vehicle's fuel type and transmission by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO is anticipated to maintain the same powertrain and drivetrain options as the XUV7OO. This includes a 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2L mHawk turbo-diesel engine. The petrol version produces a maximum power of 200 HP and a peak torque of 380 Nm, while the diesel variant offers a maximum power and torque output of 182 HP and 450 Nm, respectively.

Both engine options come with two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The XUV7OO is primarily offered with a front-wheel-drive configuration, while the diesel version also has an all-wheel-drive option available. It is expected that these features will carry over to the updated version.

Regarding its design, a video has shown that the Mahindra XUV 7XO will feature new tail lights and headlamps, aligning with the design aesthetics of the recently launched XEV 9S. However, unlike the electric version, it will include a fully functional radiator grille, which will also undergo some revisions to refresh its appearance. Additionally, the front bumper is likely to receive a new design, along with an updated lower air dam. The rear end might also see a new bumper design with modified rear fog lamps and a revised scuff plate.

The current Mahindra XUV7OO has successfully captured buyers' attention with its striking lines and curves. Hence, if the brand retains some of these elements, it would come as no surprise to see the continuation of flush-type door handles, roof rails, and well-crafted sheet metal. Other possible changes to the exterior might include a blacked-out roof, redesigned alloy wheels, and new XUV 7XO badges.

Inside, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is expected to showcase a range of updates. The SUV will likely be equipped with a triple-screen setup, similar to that seen in the XEV 9E and XEV 9S. Furthermore, a variety of new features are expected to be added to its already extensive list of equipment, including electric boss mode switches, a panoramic sunroof with lighting effects, rear tray tables, a driver seat with memory functionality, and an updated ADAS suite complete with parking assistance features.
