The classic Land Rover Defender keeps coming back, even though the SUV was retired back in 2016. The company's Classic division still sells the vehicle through the Works Bespoke program. Specifically, there are restored units of the vehicle built between 2012 and 2016 with the beefy V8 engine. This time around, the team has given the Classic Defender a makeover to pair it with the mighty Defender Octa.

To get the modern look, the makers spent around 300 hours painting the Classic Defender in Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Sargasso Blue, or Narvik Black. Alternatively, Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey colours. All of these get a glossy or satin finish, depending on the buyer's choice. To make it more Octa-like, there is also the option of painting the grille glossy black with the name of the model scripted on the hood using chopped carbon fiber.

The Classic Defender continues to borrow elements from the cabin of the Octa as well. Depending on the choice of upholstery (fabric or leather), the brand offers colour choices including Khaki Green, Light Cloud, Lunar, Burnt Sienna, and Ebony. These same shades are used on the dashboard, door cards, headline, transmission levers, and steering wheel.

The Classic Defender employs a V8, which is not sourced from BMW, unlike the twin-turbo 4.4-liter engine found in the Octa. Instead, it features Land Rover's own naturally aspirated 5.0-liter engine that generates 400 hp and 515 Nm of torque. Power is routed to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF, similar to what the Octa uses.
