Citroen has introduced ELO, a new concept car that builds on the ideas first explored with OLI in 2022. Designed as a space for experimentation, ELO reflects the brand's focus on creativity, well-being, and practical mobility solutions. The ELO concept is set for its global premiere at the Brussels Motor Show on 9 January, highlighting a versatile interior designed around modern urban living.

At 4.10 metres long, the ELO is shorter than most compact hatchbacks yet offers seating for up to six. Developed on a dedicated electric platform, it showcases how future urban family vehicles can balance smaller dimensions with a roomy, adaptable cabin.

The Elo concept rides on a fully electric platform with a standard four-seat layout and a centrally positioned driver's seat offering a panoramic 180-degree view. Two extra seats can be unfolded, expanding the capacity to six occupants. The driver's seat also rotates 360 degrees, turning the cabin into a social or workspace hub.

For longer stays, the interior converts into a sleeping arrangement for two, using inflatable mattresses crafted from Decathlon's Dropstitch material. Citroen envisions Elo as a versatile space, shifting seamlessly between mobility, lounge, office, or entertainment modes within minutes. The ELO concept was shaped through partnerships with Goodyear and Decathlon. Goodyear supplied Eagle Xplore tyres featuring SightLine technology for real-time monitoring of pressure and wear, while Decathlon added its expertise in materials and design, drawing inspiration from outdoor and sporting activities.

Citroen refers to the ELO as a "tiny house on wheels," and its practical touches reinforce that idea. An underfloor compressor can be used to inflate tyres or sports gear, while vehicle-to-load technology enables the battery to power external devices such as speakers or grills. Door-mounted hooks also allow an awning to be attached, transforming the vehicle into a sheltered hub for outdoor activities and making it a versatile companion for everyday use or leisure.

In the earlier Oli concept from 2022, Citroen used the "Smartband," a wide strip at the base of the windscreen, to project information and applications. With ELO in 2025, the brand is evolving this idea into a new display format. Flat screens are reflected onto a transparent surface treated with a reflective film, creating the impression of floating visuals across the windscreen. This approach allows drivers to view information without distraction and uses less costly technology compared to conventional head-up displays.

ELO also introduces a single-spoke steering wheel with a double flat section, a design first seen on the 1955 DS. Its wide opening improves visibility of the instruments while remaining comfortable to hold. Two joystick-style buttons provide access to digital functions, making controls intuitive and easy to manage. The brand states that the setup is designed to enhance calmness inside the cabin, reinforcing Citroen's focus on user-friendly and reassuring interiors.
