Indian students attacked in Melbourne on Republic Day
NDTV Correspondent, Thursday January 28, 2010, Melbourne
A group of Indian students residing in Melbourne were assaulted by about 15 Australian men who entered the house of these Indian students unprovoked.

One of the students was hit by a baseball bat and another was attacked by a knife.

The attackers were also carrying a fake gun threatening to kill the Indian students.

The Indian students ran out of the house and hit the bonnet of one of the offender's car. The attackers fled away, leaving behind the car which was later picked up by the police.

The police instead of tracking down the attackers, charged the Indian students for affray and damage to the car.

My advice for the government : Increase the number of IITs , IIMs and other reputed institutes in number so that all the indians can get the quality education without going abroad ...

Time for the Indians to gather together and start looking out for each other. The goons who are playing with social liberties need to be caught and given a taste of their own medicine. Time to act instead of being the victims all the time. The Indians are a large enough community to give back as much as we get.
