Blast in Peshawar, school reportedly hit
NDTV Correspondent, Thursday October 15, 2009, Peshawar
After Lahore's morning of terror on Thursday, there has been a blast in a residential area of Peshawar. One child has been killed in the blast that completley destroyed a three-storeyed building.

Casualties are expected to be high as there are people trapped under the rubble of the building. Four injured people have been rescued from under the building, Pakistan media reports said.

The blast took place on Kohat road of the Gulshan Rehman Colony, a residential area that houses government employees.

A senior Peshawar police official told the media that explosives were planted in a car that was brought into the colony and detonated. "A man drove it in, got off and then there was a blast. Since security is tight around the city they came to a residential area and blew up the car. The car was parked in a narrow lane between two houses, " he said.

Rescue operations are on and more details are awaited.
