Commonwealth Games will be spectacular: PM
Press Trust of India, Monday October 26, 2009, Cha-Am Hua Hin, Thailand

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has expressed confidence that the Games extravaganza will be a "spectacular show" due to new mechanisms put in place by the government.

"I am sure whatever mechanism we have put in place now will ensure that the games are conducted in a proper manner. In a spectacular way. Spectators are going to see spectacular games," Singh told reporters in the Thai beach resort of Cha-Am Hua Hin.

He, however, admitted that there were some problems with some projects.

The Prime Minister also parried a question on demands in Congress that Rahul Gandhi be given the responsibility of Commonwealth Games like his father Rajiv Gandhi was given charge of Asiad Games.

Commonwealth Games will be held in New Delhi from October 3-14 next year.
