The Duanes were all set for their daughter Quinn's wedding, but a rude shock awaited them. On D-day, the groom got cold feet and called off the wedding. However, they chose to salvage the situation by making an incredible decision.

According to KCRA.com, the bride-to-be's family had already paid $35,000 for the wedding ceremony. They had more bills that needed to be cleared as well.

Making the best of a terrible situation, they decided to invite the city's homeless for the feast meant to be served at the reception for the newlyweds.

"When I found out on Monday that the wedding would not be taking place, it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back," Kari Duane told KCRA.com.

People arrived in huge numbers to gorge on the four-star quality food meant for some 120 wedding guests. The menu included cauliflower gnocchi, salmon dishes, besides appetizers and salad.

"To lose out on something so important to yourself and then give it to someone else is really giving, really kind," Erika Craycraft who arrived with her husband and five children told KCRA.com.

According to reports the family also donated the flowers for the wedding to a nursery home, while the mother and daughter plan to travel to Belize for what was meant to be the couple's honeymoon.
