Eight killed in Uttar Pradesh road accident

Lucknow:  Five women and three children from the same family were killed early on Tuesday when their tractor trolley was hit by a mini truck in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district, police said.

The accident took place on National Highway 51. The family belonged to Dera Kadar Baksha village and were going from Bachranva to Tigri Dham for a bath in the Ganges. Amroha is around 400 km from Lucknow.

Three children and five women were killed. The injured have been admitted to a nearby medical facility, Superintendent of Police (SP) Amroha, Deepika Garg told IANS.
