PSA: 7 Myths About Masturbation, Busted
Truth be told, not everyone masturbates - and if they do, it's okay

Masturbation. No, no. Don't shy away. It is not something dirty, and it is definitely not unhealthy. And yet there are so many people out there who recoil from the word, let alone the act, as if it is an unnatural practice that some people of the society engage in, how dare they!

Truth be told, not everyone masturbates - and if they do, it's okay. Yes, it's really okay. But not everyone is convinced of this and, given the many ridiculous things that are said about masturbation - how it leads to the male genitalia shrinking, how it causes people to have mental issues, and how masturbation makes you sterile (sigh) - there is a need for these myths to be addressed in the spirit of public awareness. Here are some myths busted.

- Masturbation can cause your sex drive to go south

Umm, there is no quota is there? Your sex drive is your sex drive and there aren't only as many orgasms that you can have. Sure, there are only as many that you will enjoy thoroughly after which your private parts screech "Enough" but masturbating isn't going to dry you out.

- Masturbation is NOT going to dry you up, literally

A healthy man's testicles are always producing semen. So don't be nervous about using it all up.

- Masturbation is going to damage the genitalia

Yeah, no. That is not how it works. Also, gents, your penis isn't going to shrink due to excessive masturbation, and women pleasuring themselves isn't going to mess up their clitorises. However skin chafing is a concern, keep that one in mind.

- Masturbation is unhealthy, or abnormal

It is normal, healthy, and doesn't cause mental or physical health issues. But there is a thing called obsessive masturbation and that tends to interfere with your daily life. To solve that, one must see a sex therapist.

- Using vibrators ruin sex for women

Apparatus do not take away from what fingers, hands, bodies can do, yeah? In fact vibrators are said to open women up to more erotic stimulation. And no, women can't get addicted to vibrators.

- People in long term relationships and married people don't masturbate

Solo sex is as important for development as sex with a partner is. Many men and women do it just to relax. So, no.

- Masturbation sends you to hell

Quite the contrary, if you know what I mean.
