'Nothing Can Prepare You': Gauahar Khan, 43, Opens Up About Her Miscarriage

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha welcomed their son Neer on October 19, 2025. A few months later, the actor hosted a parenting and motherhood talk show, Mom Talks: Maa Ki Baat Maa Ke Jazbaat.

The first season had 10 episodes featuring celebrities who spoke about embracing parenthood and shared their personal journeys with Parineeti Chopra. In one of the episodes, Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar opened up about how they managed to have two children under the age of two.

While sharing their parenthood story, Gauahar Khan revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage before the couple welcomed their son Zehaan in May 2023. "Miscarriages can happen at any age," she said, adding, "We didn't think that our first attempt would end in a miscarriage."

She shared that the couple still talks about it because it is one of those life experiences that no one can ever forget.

"Nothing in the world can prepare you for that moment," she said, recalling that she and Zaid had already seen a scan and heard the baby's heartbeat.

Zaid added that it is one of those moments in life when you feel like everything around you has come to a standstill. "And I still remember the first time when I saw Zaid's face. Suddenly, it wasn't Zaid. Suddenly, it was someone else because he just became cold," shared Gauahar Khan, adding that he is usually the person who remains calm and strong in the face of adversity.

When she told him about the miscarriage, he was confused and could not comprehend the situation. "He just kept saying, 'Kya?' And I just broke down. And he was just numb, cold and numb," the Tandav star added.

She shared that it took her a lot of time and courage to come out of that trauma. Once they received the news about the miscarriage, they had to undergo a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure.

"The next day, I was supposed to be on the sets in Chandigarh," Gauahar revealed.

She shared that she believes people get what they manifest. "God will bless you based on the attitude you have towards life," she said.

Zaid recalled telling her to move on from the setback and reassured her that they would try again for a baby. Gauahar remembered visiting the doctor after the miscarriage. She looked upset, but despite her pain, she told the doctor that she would have a baby one day. Looking at her positive attitude, the doctor told her not to worry because her wish would come true.

The actor also shared that her husband never blamed or questioned her choices during the pregnancy. His unwavering support helped her through the difficult phase. The couple recently celebrated the first birthday of their second son, Farwaan.
