Rajkummar Rao's Chin Fillers: How Cosmetic Standards Affect Male Celebs

The ideals of body and face standards in the beauty world have affected more than just females. For female members of the celebrity clan, opting for cosmetic surgery is now quite common. However, the norms are changing for male stars as well. Recently it was Rajkummar Rao's viral picture that made headlines. His drastically different appearance led to speculation that the actor had undergone cosmetic procedures. The actor however, cleared doubts about the same. In an interview with PTI, he said, "I've not gone under the knife. I have not done any kind of plastic surgery. I feel it's certainly a touched-up picture because my skin is looking so flawless. Even I was amazed how it's so flawless without any makeup and after shooting the whole day." The actor cleared the air by dismissing rumours about undergoing plastic surgery but went on to discuss past procedures he has undergone.

For the celebrity brigade, maintaining their physical appearance is practically a given. As undergoing cosmetic procedures have slowly slipped into ordinary celebrity lifestyles, many international personalities like Ariana Grande and Megan Fox have been open about opting for them. With the beauty sphere expanding, it has created a safe space for males where cosmetic surgery is normalised. Recently, Rajkummar Rao's confession about getting chin fillers done in the past led to a conversation about men openly speaking up about cosmetic procedures. He said in the same PTI interview, "8 to 9 years back, I did a little touch up on my chin with fillers, which is like half-an hour job because I wanted to feel more confident, which I do. I certainly feel more confident. I feel I look much better, but has it changed me as a person, has it changed me as an artist? Not at all."

Rajkummar Rao's confession about undergoing fillers is a conversation-starter about men being vocal about opting for cosmetic procedures. Although the number of males opting for the same might not be as high as females, it is becoming a comfortable space for them to explore the options and open up about it.
