Indore Girl 'Stabbed Herself' Before Filing False Gang-Rape Case: Police

On Tuesday night, the girl had told police she was kidnapped by two men and gang-raped

Indore:

The Indore Police has found that the claims of a 19-year-old college girl who had on Tuesday accused five men of kidnapping, gang-raping, and stabbing her are "inconsistent" and "baseless". Investigations have revealed that even the stab wound she has sustained are self-inflicted. Following a probe, the police have now filed a case against her for registering a false case.

The girl is yet to reveal the reason for filing a false case as she is still recovering, the police told NDTV.

The prime accused in the initial case and the girl were in love and used to live in the same locality, according to the police.

On Tuesday night, she had told the police she was kidnapped by two men and gang-raped by them and three others. They then stabbed her, put her in a jute bag, and threw her on a railway track. She had claimed to have managed to break free and, with some locals' help, reached MY Hospital in Indore.

Further probe based on her allegation, however, proved her claims to be false.

"The footage of more than 150 CCTVs were checked and scientific evidence along the railway tracks from Pardeshipura to Banganga was collected during the probe. The police found that the claims made by the girl were baseless and inconsistent," Indore IG Harinarayan Chari Mishra told the media.

"A case will be filed under section 182/211 against the girl after man investigation by the police revealed that these claims were false," he said.

The police will further probe the reasons for her filing such a case after she recovers, he said.
