Amid the ongoing protests at the Punjab-Haryana border, a group of farmers today blocked railway tracks in Punjab.

Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) and BKU Dakaunda (Dhaner) have announced 'rail roko' in Punjab and said that they will squat on rail tracks at seven locations from 12 noon to 4 pm.

Later in the day, three Union ministers will hold another round of talks with farmer leaders. Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Arjun Munda, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai will meet the farmer leaders in Chandigarh over their various demands, including a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price for crops.

"Farmers Fighting For India Just Like Soldiers": Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi asserted that the protesting farmers are fighting for the country just like soldiers on the borders, reported news agency PTI. Criticising the Narendra Modi-led central government, Mr Gandhi claimed that it waived loans of the "super rich worth Rs 14 lakh crore, while the expenditure on MGNREGA is only Rs 70,000 crore."

Union Ministers To Hold Talks With Farmer Leaders At 5 PM Today
Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Arjun Munda, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai will meet the farmer leaders at 5 pm in Chandigarh over their various demands.

This will be the third round of talks between the Centre and the protesting farmers after the previous two rounds of dialogue on February 8 and 12 remained inconclusive.

"We Have Objection To The Way They Are Protesting": Haryana Chief Minister On Farmers' Protest
Speaking on farmers' protest, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that they have an objection to the way they are protesting.

"Tractor is not a mode of transport, they can come on buses or trains. Discussions should be done democratically so that a solution can be reached," he told reporters.

Mr Khattar also said that "raising demands and going to Delhi is everyone's right but the motive has to be seen". 

"We have seen all of this last time, how a scene was created and they occupied various borders which created problems for everyone," he said.

Farmers' Protest Live: Rail Services Hit Due To Protests
Rail traffic on the Ambala division of the Northern Railway has been affected due to the ongoing farmers' protest.

The following rail services will be impacted due to the farmers' protest:

Cancelled Rail Services (from the originating station):

Train number 04753, Bathinda-Shri Ganganagar service, will be cancelled on February 15.

Train number 04756, Shri Ganganagar-Bathinda service, will be cancelled on February 15.

Partially Cancelled Rail Services (from the originating station):

Train number 14736, Ambala-Shri Ganganagar service, which was supposed to depart from Ambala on February 15, will only run up to Bathinda, meaning it will be cancelled between Bathinda and Shri Ganganagar.

Train number 14735, Shri Ganganagar-Ambala service, will depart from Bathinda on February 15, meaning it will be cancelled between Shri Ganganagar and Bathinda.

Route Altered Rail Service: Train number 19612, Amritsar-Ajmer Express, will be operated via a changed route through Tarn Taran Jn.-Beas on February 15, 2024.

Ahead of a meeting with a panel of the Centre, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should speak to the three visiting Union ministers to resolve the farmers' issues.

"We want that the prime minister should himself speak to the deputation (of union ministers) which is coming (for the meeting) and resolve the demands of farmers," Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Pandher told the media.

"We want our demands to be accepted," he added.

"Either accept our demands or allow us to hold a peaceful protest," he said.
