New Delhi:
Actress
Neha Dhupia, who stars in Vidya Balan's Friday release Tumhari Sulu, has been a part of the industry for over 14 years now. Neha says she 'survived' in the industry because she 'believes in creating work when there's none,' reports news agency PTI. The 37-year-old actress debuted in 2003 with
Qayamat: City Under Threat and later featured in films like
Julie, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and
Garam Masala. "If there is something interesting happening, I reach out to people. When there is no work, I create my own. You have to put it out there that I am here to do good work and somehow or the other you will get it," she told PTI.
Of her journey in films so far, Neha said, "
The learning from my entire career is: never compare yourself to anyone because it'll destroy you. You've to wake up every day and keep hustling. I don't think I've lasted so many years because of my crafts or relationships but because I wake up and hustle."
Neha Dhupia plays a Maria, a radio station's head and Vidya Balan's boss in
Tumhari Sulu, a film based on Sulochana (Vidya), a housewife-turned-RJ. Neha said that says she shares a 'fantastic rapport' with co-star Vidya.
Tumhari Sulu also stars RJ Malishka and Manav Kaul.
Neha Dhupia, a former beauty queen, made her TV debut as a host in
Comedy Circus. She has featured as gang leader in two seasons of
Roadies and currently hosts her own podcast show
No Filter Neha.
