Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore marked her birthday on December 8 (Thursday) in the company of her family and children. The actress celebrated her 78th birthday in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, with Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan and Saba Pataudi, among others. The happy group is pictured huddling around Sharmila Tagore as she cuts her birthday cake. Sharing one such image, Sharmila Tagore's daughter Saba Pataudi wrote, “Let's cut the cake.” In a second image, Saba wrote, “Let's feed the cake to mumma. Bhai vs me.”

On the occasion, Saba Pataudi also dropped a special photo with mom Sharmila Tagore and said, “Happy happy to you... Love (heart emoji) you.”

This was preceded by a montage video featuring Sharmila Tagore with her children. In the caption, Saba Pataudi said, “Happy Birthday, Amma. Memories...moments. Just.”

Sharing another image with her mom, Saba Pataudi wrote, “Mumma and Moi....! Yes...the bindi baby...is Saba.”

Soha Ali Khan too shared an image with mom Sharmila Tagore and said, “Happy birthday my darling Amma! Spice jet tried to keep us apart but we persevered and we made it and I got to see you, hold you, hug you and kiss you.” Saba Pataudi replied to the post saying, “We made it!! Thanks to bhai and Bebo. Yaaay!”

Kareena Kapoor also dropped a happy picture posing with her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore and wrote a birthday note that read, "Happy Birthday to my gorgeous mother-in-law."

Sharmila Tagore made her debut with Satyajit Ray's 1959 Apur Sansar. She is known for her work in films such as Kashmir Ki Kali, Aradhana, Chupke Chupke and Amar Prem.
