On Lata Mangeshkar's Death Anniversary, A Meeting Of 'Legends' - Asha Parekh And Hema Malini

On legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's first death anniversary on February 6, a musical tribute – Latanjali –  was held in Mumbai to commemorate her memories and legacy. The event, organised by Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar, was attended by many Bollywood stalwarts, including Hema Malini, Asha Parekh, Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma, Reena Roy, Anandji Virji Shah, Kajol and Raveena Tandon. Glimpses of the musical night were shared by the attendees on social media. Actress Raveena Tandon posted a few photos with Asha Parekh, Hema Malini and Kajol. “All about tonight! Legends in honour of Lata Mangeshkar ji, Asha Parekh ji, Hema Malini ji,” she wrote in the caption. While Hema Malini and Asha Parekh are seen wearing sarees, Kajol and Raveena Tandon opted for Indo-western outfits for the event that took place at the Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Mumbai's Matunga.

Lata Mangeshkar died on February 6, 2022, at the age of 92.  


 

Many eminent personalities from the Indian film industry paid their tributes to Lata Mangeshkar at the concert. Photos and videos of renowned singers like Sharayu Date, Sampada Goswami, Sadhana Sargam, Bela Shende and Nirupama De from Latanjali were also shared by Ashish Shelar on his Twitter account.


 

Other than Hema Malini, Asha Parekh, Raveena Tandon and Kajol, Bollywood actresses like Rakhi, Mousumi Chatterjee, Padmini Kolhapure, Bindu, Reena Roy, Poonam Dhillon and Rani Mukherjee were also present at the event.


We also got glimpses of music directors Anandji Shah and Pyarelal from Latanjali.


In a career spanning eight decades, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar recorded songs in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and other regional languages.  Known as the 'Nightingale of India,' she was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several National and Filmfare Awards.
