- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is now a working mother. Ash, who has been on maternity leave ever since she gave birth to daughter Aaradhya in November last year, was in Kochi on Sunday (August 19) to inaugurate the first showroom for Kalyan Jewellers, a jewellery brand for which she is the ambassador.
- Dressed in a white and gold lehenga by favourite designers Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, with diamonds around her neck and flowers in her hair, Aishwarya braved a teeming crowd of fans who had lined up to catch a glimpse of the star.
- Aishwarya was joined by Malayalam star Dileep in inaugurating the store. She has already made headlines with her print ads for Kalyan Jewellers. The ad campaign made a splash not just because it was Ash’s first job after having her baby, but also because she looked suspiciously slender in the photographs.
- Ash’s polished appearance in Kochi proved that the most beautiful woman in the world required no photoshopping or digital manipulation of any sort to look anything but perfect in real life.
- A special stage was constructed at the store venue so Aishwarya could address the gathered crowd. She said, "This truly feels special. You all know I have shot for this ad after a bit of a break but really thanks to the entire team. I haven't felt the time at all and it was really wonderful to be here and shooting such a beautiful campaign. Kalyan Jewellers campaign will always remain special to me because this is the first campaign I have shot after the birth of my beautiful daughter Aaradhya."
- In May, Aishwarya had made her 10th appearance as a L’Oreal ambassador at the Cannes Film Festival. She had taken baby Aaradhya with her then and her little daughter, now nine months old, went with her to Kochi as well. Ash’s mother, Brindya Rai, was with her to babysit.
