West Bengal HS result 2020 has been announced. The board result was announced by Council President Mahua Das. Madhyamik or class 10 result for West Bengal students was announced on July 15. As per reports, eight lakh students sat for the WBCHSE 12th exams this year. The result will be available for downloading on the official results portal for exams conducted in West Bengal, 'wbresults.nic.in'. Students would need their 12th board exam details to check their result. The result will also be released on app and will also be available on SMS. After WB 12th results are announced, degree admission process will begin in the state.
Students who wish to apply for scrutiny of the HS board exam result can do so within August 31. The scrutiny fee has been reduced from Rs 60 to Rs 50 and the review fee has been reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 75.
The West Bengal higher secondary exam result has been declared today. A total of 84,746 students have scored above 80% in the exam. Overall 90.13% of the total students have passed the HS exam in West Bengal this year.

WBCHSE will release details for Scrutiny application by tonight. The deadline to apply for scrutiny is July 31.
This year 84,746 students have scored over 80% marks, and 30,220 have scored over 90%.
98.83% students have passed in science stream. In commerce 92.22% have passed, and in arts stream 88.74% have passed.
90.13% students have passed in class 12 exams in West Bengal this year. Pass percentage for boys is 90.44%. Girls pass percentage is a little over 90%.

Students who pass West Bengal board 12th exam will have to wait for their marksheets for a while. The marksheets will be given to heads of schools on July 31 after which students can collect them form respective schools while observing the necessary social distancing protocols.

Meanwhile, WBCHSE promoted all class 11 students to class 12 without examination.
Last year, 7, 90,000 students had registered and 7,77,000 students appeared for the exam. This year, reports suggest that eight lakh students appeared for 12th board exams in West Bengal.
Last year, total 139 students were placed in top 10 merit list in West Bengal 12th exam.
In 2019, WBCHSE had announced 12th results on May 27. Total 86.29 per cent students passed in HS exam in West Bengal last year.
Calcutta University will conclude the application process for admission to BA LLB course on July 30.
Admission to colleges in West Bengal for under-graduate courses will be through the online mode this year and students will not be called for counselling or verification of documents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, state Higher Education department said.
WBCHSE had to cancel exam for three class 12 papers and the Council will follow the same formula as applied by CBSE for cancelled papers.
WBCHSE, in a notification released on January 26, said that a student’s best mark out of all the exams that they have written will be taken as the marks for the exams that they could not attempt.
Calcutta University will hold UG admission process online. The process will begin on August 10, 2020.

The Council will release HS marksheets and other relevant documents on July 31. These will be handed over to Heads of Higher Secondary Institutions from 2 pm onwards.
WBCHSE will not release HS or class 12 marksheet and certificates today and these will be released at a later date.
