Hyundai Motor India has multiple products in the Indian market that have gained popularity among consumers. The list includes the Exter, which is heading towards an upgrade with a facelift version. The test mule of the model has been spotted testing on Indian roads with heavy camouflage, ensuring it doesn't give away lots of details. However, it is easy to spot a few changes; we take a look at these details.

Hyundai Exter Facelift: Design

The spy shots of the prototype reveal that the split-style headlamp setup and the H-shaped LED daytime running lights will stay the same. However, there will be some modifications to the front bumper. Additionally, the radiator grille will feature a refreshed design. At the rear, a revamped tailgate with rectangular tail lights and an updated bumper is expected. The micro SUV is likely to be equipped with newly designed alloy wheels.

Hyundai Exter Facelift: Interior, Features

The mid-cycle update is expected to bring a variety of changes to the interior of the 2026 Hyundai Exter. It will likely include features like a dual-pane sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment display, an upgraded fully digital instrument cluster, a driver armrest, and split-folding rear seats, among others. Improved seat comfort and smarter storage options are also possible, enhancing day-to-day usability.

Hyundai Exter Facelift: Powertrain

On the mechanical side, the facelifted 2026 Hyundai Exter will retain the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is also offered with the Hy-CNG Duo kit. This petrol engine comes with both manual and AMT transmission options, delivering a peak power of 82 bhp and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. In CNG mode, it produces 68 bhp of power and 95.2 Nm of torque. The updated version of the SUV is expected to feature a new CNG-AMT combination.

Hyundai Exter Facelift: Expected Launch

The Hyundai Exter was first launched in the Indian market in 2023 and became a competitor to the Tata Punch, which has recently undergone significant updates. With a facelift version in development, the Exter is expected to intensify the competition with its Tata rival. As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the launch of this updated version. However, it is anticipated to be introduced in the market in the first quarter of 2026.
