Industrialist Anand Mahindra is known for his deep love for travel. He often spotlights India's hidden gems in his social media posts, which inspire people to visit these lesser-known destinations. Recently, Mahindra discovered a serene hill station tucked away in Jharkhand named Meghahatuburu. In a post shared on X, he admitted that until recently, he himself was unaware of the place. The entrepreneur highlighted the scenic beauty and untouched charm of the location, sparking fresh interest among travellers and social media users alike.
Sharing a few pictures of the hill station, Mahindra wrote, "When most people plan a holiday in India, the usual suspects come up: Goa, Himachal, Rajasthan. Jharkhand rarely features in that conversation. I plead guilty of that too. And then I bumped into these striking photos posted by @IndiaAesthetica about Meghahatuburu, a hill station in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, renowned as the "Hill of Clouds" due to its high altitude."

Mahindra noted that Meghahatuburu is nestled 4,300 feet above sea level, amidst the 700 hills of the Saranda forest. The place is known for its breathtaking sunset views, picturesque forest waterfalls and a landscape that's largely untouched.
While the tourist infrastructure is minimal, there are plenty of guesthouses dotting the area.
He did some more digging about Jharkhand and discovered it's home to Netarhat's stunning sunrises, Betla National Park, the revered Jyotirlinga at Deoghar, the scenic waterfalls around Ranchi, and the ancient Saranda forest. "Jharkhand has much to offer the discerning traveller. It simply hasn't shouted about it," Mahindra concluded.
