Chennai:
A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. A 25-year-old neighbour, a truck cleaner, has been arrested on charges of rape.
According to police, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the little girl on May 12 month in his house.
"There was an attempt to hush up the matter initially, but the girl's mother decided to report the matter to police after the child developed pain," police said.
The Superintendent of Police of Coimbatore, Ms Uma told NDTV, "The child has been sent for medical examination".
