Madurai:
An AIADMK village president of Vembakottai was killed when the car in which he was travelling collided with a van loaded with tiles at Retiyaarsaththiram near Dindigul on Sunday, police said.
Fifty four year old Manikantan was killed on the spot, while his daughter and car driver were injured, they said.
They were on their way to Coimbatore from Virudunagar with regard to college admission for his daughter when the mishap occurred.
The injured have been hospitalised.
