Hisar:  A milk vendor was shot dead allegedly by six men in Hisar's Sadalpur village, triggering violent protests by locals who set on fire two Haryana Roadways buses today and demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.

According to police, six attackers came in a car last night to a milk shop owned by Vijay Kumar. Two of the attackers first slapped Mr Kumar and then fired at him. However, Mr Kumar escaped unhurt and the bullets hit Vinod Kumar, a milk vendor, who was working in the shop, they said, adding, the attackers fled from the spot after the incident.

Irate villagers then blocked roads and stopped two Haryana Roadways buses on Bhana road and set them ablaze, police said.

The protesters demanded arrest of the culprits, they said.

Superintendent of Police Satender Gupta along with heavy police forces reached the spot to take stock of the situation.

A case under section 302 (murder) has been registered against six persons and one of the them has been detained for interrogation, police said.
