No relationship is perfect or made in heaven! Everyone makes some mistakes or can even end up being in a wrong relationship. But this does not mean that you stop trying. We can all certainly learn from our past mistakes. Try avoiding some of these below written mistakes which can keep the love between you and your partner intact.

1. Do not mind read

Communication is the backbone of any relationship. To have a long term intimacy, it is important that you both speak up about your issues to resolve them. Keeping everything inside your mind, for the other person to guess, will not help. It will only create a gap between the two of you.

2. Do not make them your whole life

Never lose your individuality. Be aware about what you like and dislike and do not give up on your values. Have an opinion, share a perspective. Your life should not completely revolve around theirs.

3. Do not fight to win

To have a healthy relationship, it is important for you to not bottle up your feelings, and then go exploding them all at once. If you're so adamant about winning an argument, the relationship will lose! And nobody wants that, right? Put the swords down, talk it out, and try ending up on a common ground.

4. Do not stop putting in effort

Being in a relationship does not mean that you stop making those little gestures and only focus on making a future together. Because like everything else, if you do not actively pursue romance, you are bound to lose it. This can make your life monotonous and might even break you apart.

5. Do not compare your partner to others

No two people are the same. You must not compare your partner to others at any cost. Try to accept them for who they are or what they believe in, rather than changing them. Isn't it why you first fell in love with them? Value and respect them for their individuality, and try improvising on the things you don't like about each other gradually.

6. Don't get caught up in whether your partner is 'the one'

Meeting for the first time, getting in a relationship next and labelling him/her as 'the One'. A big no no! You must stop wishing for the perfect relationship in your head. It's important to understand that relationships are all about understanding each other gradually and also compromising. It involves a process and you must evolve together rather than worrying about the future.

7. Cheating

Um, pretty self explanatory? Once the trust is broken emotionally or physically, it is a very long road back to recover the bond you shared.
