Colour-blocking - have you heard of it? If you've had a keen interest in fashion for long enough, of course you have. In the early 2010s, the fashion trend which juxtaposed atypical hues of colour was a fashion favourite seen on bloggers, celebrities and runways. We've only caught occasional sightings of the trend; until today that is and it's all thanks to Mandy Moore.
The Hollywood star has been an actress and singer since the early 00s and is currently known for her lead role as Rebecca Pearson in the family drama This Is Us. Along with her acting career, Mandy is also quite the style diva, something we never expected from Mrs. Pearson. Her latest appearance isn't only an exceptionally stylish one but also a revival of the colour-blocking look.
Designer Schiparelli showcased their new haute couture fall/winter 2018 - 19 collection in Paris which the actress attended. Her recent run in fabulous looks and stylish couture has recently made Mandy a fashion star of sorts, a position which her latest look only further cements.
For the event, Mandy wore a flowing Schiaparelli dress which had one cutaway shoulder with the one remaining bare. The dress had a red layer underneath its hot pink exterior which peeked through and gave the outfit a fantastic colour combination that's unusual at first but one which you grow to like, the more you look at it.
With it, Mandy wore white laced stilettos with red hearts, a white clutch, gold earrings and a long necklace. Keeping all focus on her outfit, the star went for a warm toned look with matching pink lips and straight hair.
Looks like she's bringing back the colour-blocking trend in all its glory and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we see more where this came from.
