If there was anyone in the country still clueless about the designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Veere Di Wedding changed that for sure. With the stunning high-impact designs worn by the four leads of the movie - Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania - there is no way that the designers wouldn't get their share of the the limelight. In Sandeep Khosla's words, "it was fun and frolic" designing for the movie, something that translated onto the screen beautifully.

But now, the designer duo are dressing some other beautiful women. The Femina Miss India 2018 contestants are now being featured on the designers' Instagram page, one by one. In gorgeous couture clothes, on-point makeup and backdrops that may as well be royal palaces, the contestants look like winners already. The beauty pageant, now in its 55th edition, is an annual event that culminates when three titles are crowned - Miss India (World), Miss India (Earth), Miss India (Grand). The final event to crown these three winners will be held in Mumbai tomorrow - several sub-titles have already been competed for and won.

For this photo shoot, each Abu-Sandeep outfit has the designers' trademark elements: mirror work, gota patti work, attention to detail, and the usual 'chamak dhamak'.

Take a look.

Miss Delhi, Gayatri Bhardwaj, looks beautiful in the pink lehenga with architectural mirror work. Gayatri has already scored a couple of sub-titles, including Miss Glamorous Look and Miss Spectacular Eyes.

Miss Karnataka, Bhavana Durgamreddy, in a peach lehenga with gota patti work.

Miss Bihar, Bhavna Jain, looks stylish in a red silk lehenga.

Miss Tamil Nadu, Anukreethy Vas, is royalty personified. Anukreethy won Miss Beautiful Smile.

Miss Goa Aashna Gurav's lehenga could just as well be from a summer wedding shoot. Aashna won Miss Tech Beauty.

Miss Punjab, Anna Kler, winner of Miss Body Beautiful, could have been dressed in something brighter but this still looks fab.

Miss Jammu and Kashmir, Malika Kapoor, looks pretty in her baby pink lehenga. We love the neat work.

Miss India Madhya Pradesh, Meena Ahir's fierce look speaks for her.

Miss Andhra Pradesh Shreya Rao's earthy look could have been intensified with a warmer shade. Shreya won the sub-title Miss Goodness Ambassador.

Miss India Jharkhand, Stefy Patel looks quintessentially Indian.

Miss India Arunchal Pradesh, Osin Mosu looks chic! That top is just nailing it. Osin won the title of Miss Congeniality.

It is interesting to see how every state has been represented by different colours but a singular theme. With stylist Esha Amiin as the fashion director for the shoot, can we really be surprised? Out of the 30 contestants, pictures of only 11 have been shared on Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's Instagram page. So it goes without saying that we can't wait for the other 19 to show up soon. While there's been some debate on the relevance of beauty pageants today - and we have to admit that some of the sub-titles sound absurd - it's always fun to look at pictures of beautiful clothes. We're here for the fashion - bring it on, Abu-Sandeep.
