Kupwara: A 20-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming poison in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
Masrat, the daughter of Mohammad Dilawar, consumed poison last night at her residence at Paddergund in Handwara area, 85 kms from here, they said.
She was rushed in an unconscious state to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
A case has been registered and investigations have begun the police said.
