Veerappan's widow in hospital for food poisoning
Mysore: In a suspected case of food poisoning, 50 inmates of the Central Jail, including Muthulakshmi, widow of forest brigand Veerappan, have been admitted to a Hospital in Mysore after they fell ill.

"More are expected to be admitted", sources at the Krishnarajendra hospital told PTI, adding the inmates complained of severe stomach ache and late vomitted after having rice and sambhar and ragi balls served to them for supper last night.

"Around 2.30 a.m, they complained of pain and some of them were seen writhing in pain. It was around 10 a.m today that the jail authorities began shifting them to the hospital for treatment. Among the 50, 11 are women including Muthulakshmi", they said.

All of them have been admitted to the emergency ward and are being given intravenous fluids. They are responding to the treatment, they said.

MP S Vishwanath visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the patients.
