The Congress has won all three by elections in Kannur, Allappura and Ernakulum.
In Kannur, the Congress candidate who has won, AP Abdullakutty, used to be a CPM MP. He was expelled for expressing his admiration for Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi after which he joined the Congress.
