'Controversial Godwoman Radhe Maa's Arrest Unlikely': Police Sources Tell NDTV

'Controversial Godwoman Radhe Maa's Arrest Unlikely': Police Sources Tell NDTV
Mumbai: There have been a flurry of complaints against controversial self-styled Godwoman Radhe Maa, but the chances of her arrest remain rather bleak, sources have told NDTV.

"No concrete evidence has been found against Radhe Maa in the dowry harassment case registered at the Kandivali Police Station, till now," police sources said.

"None of the statements recorded till now indicate that she has anything to do with the complainant, her husband or dowry allegations levelled by the complainant," sources added.

A 32-year-old woman has alleged dowry harassment and "mental and physical torture." The woman has said that her husband's family harassed her on Radhe Maa's orders. Radhe Maa, whose real name is Sukhwinder Kaur, is unlikely to be arrested in the case since no concrete evidence has been found against her.

"There is no truth in these allegations. We don't want to say anything now as the matter is under investigation. Radhe Maa has nothing to do with this and she has already said what she had too," Sanjeev Gupta, the self-styled Godwoman's spokesperson, told NDTV.

The Mumbai Police will record Radhe Maa's statement on Friday.

The 50-year-old, who recently created a flutter on social media with her pictures in a mini-skirt, faces a host of allegations varying from cheating, obscenity and hurting religious sentiment.

Lawyer Falguni Brahmbhatt has petitioned the Bombay High Court asking for a First Information Report or FIR against the controversial 'Godwoman'.
