In Shraddha's Haseena Parkar, Siddhanth plays Dawood Ibrahim
Siddhanth started his career as an assistant director
In Haseena Parkar, Siddhanth, 33, plays Dawood Ibrahim while Shraddha, 30, headlines the film. Haseena Parkar is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and marks the bother-sister duo first collaboration.
On the ongoing nepotism debate, Siddhanth said that as a star kid, actors 'do get opportunity' but in the end, it's all about talent. "I know how the industry works because I have grown up with a lot of star kids and stars. They are amazing people. You do get opportunity as a star kid, but after that it is only your talent which is going to take you ahead. People have expectations, they compare you with your father, brother or sister. The pressure comes to your head, and it isn't easy. It's probably easier for an outsider to come here and become stars because they don't carry expectations with them," Siddhanth told PTI.
Siddhanth started his career as an assistant director. He's assisted filmmaker Priyadarshan in comedy films like Bhool Bhulaiya, Bhagam Bhag, Chup Chup Ke and Dhol. "The films I have done have a different range because as an actor I like crazy things. Comedy is my favourite genre, and I will do a comedy film. But as an AD (assistant director), I wanted to learn a lot from behind the camera, from the scratch," he told PTI.
Shakti Kapoor has worked in over 700 films as a supporting actor. He is known for his villainous and comic roles in the films. Shraddha Kapoor debuted in the industry with 2010's Teen Patti and her first leading role was in Luv Ka The End. She is the star of films like Aashiqui 2, Haider, Ek Villain, ABCD 2 and Baaghi.
Haseena Parkar is set to release on September 22.
