Sa Re Ga Ma Pa returns with new additions to the show

Composers Sajid-Wajid will be the judges for the show

Highlights

  • Musical TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is returning after a gap of two years with composers Sajid-Wajid reprising the role of judges and Indian Ocean frontman Rahul Ram being the newest member on the judging panel.
  • The show is making a comeback with new additions and changes in the concept. "Last season we didn't have direct public voting but this time we have taken that into consideration as we believe audience is the most unbiased. We will also have original compositions along with famous Bollywood tracks.
  • "We have seen that often contestants rehearse the old song a lot of times and so are perfect at the melody but when it comes to singing originals track in the studio they tremble," Wajid said. The composer duo, who have given music for hit films like Dabangg, Housefull 2 and Ek Tha Tiger, say they are compromising on their film projects to concentrate on the show, which goes on air on September 29 on Zee TV.
  • "It is very important that we choose the contestants carefully and then mark them with an unbiased attitude. Our judgement can make or break their future. So we have been dedicating our time to the show more than movies," Sajid said. The newest addition to the judges panel, Rahul says he still does not know why he was asked to be a part of the show but he is more than happy to be here.
  • "I don't know why they chose me but I liked the concept of the show and they told me they wanted someone who was not from a Bollywood background. So I thought its a good platform to bring in independent music and merge it with Bollywood tracks," Rahul said.
