Meet Richa Chadha as Shakeela - the Nineties adult star - in who's biopic the 31-year-old actress is playing the protagonist. On Friday, Richa shared a few glimpses of her look as Shakeela on her Instagram page. In the photos, Richa Chadha can be seen draped in a saree, a traditional south Indian one, which she accessorised with gold jewellery and a tika on the forehead. Soon after she Instagrammed the photos, her Instafam started flooding the comments section with reactions and very unlike the usual nature of the Internet, netizens actually appeared to appreciate Richa's look as Shakeela. "So gorgeous," wrote an user while another one added: "Mesmerising!" More comments on Richa's Instagram read: "You're like a painting" and "Love the look!"

Richa Chadha recently met the real life Shakeela in Bangalore, who is now 41. In the Nineties, Shakeela featured in several controversial projects in the Southern film industry, including Telugu and Tamil film. However, Shakeela was best known for her works in Malayalam cinema with Kinnara Thumbikal being one of her most popular films. Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, the biopic with highlight Shakeela's journey to the pinnacle of popularity and then how the craze about gradually faded away.
Speaking to news agency IANS, Richa Chadha revealed why the biopic is an interesting project to come on board for: "The film is the story of Shakeela, one of the most famous actors from Malayalam cinema from the 1990s who rose to a spectacular amount of fame. Her fans were spread across Asia and she earned fanfare as a woman which back then was unheard of."
Daas Dev remains Richa Chadha's last film. On her resume, she has films like Sarbjit, Masaan, Ram-Leela and the Gangs Of Wasseypur and Fukrey series of movies. She also has films Love Sonia, Cabaret and Ghoomketu in the line-up.
