Hrithik Roshan's next film
Mohenjo Daro will
keep its date with the box office on August 12 as scheduled, read a statement on behalf of director Ashutosh Gowariker on Tuesday.
Mohenjo Daro releases on the same day as Akshay Kumar's
Rustom and reports suggested that Mr Gowariker had been approached by
Rustom's producers to reschedule his film. Mr Gowariker's statement insists that no such negotiations have taken place.
The release date of
Mohenjo Daro was announced in January 2015 and Mr Gowariker says there will be no change in the calendar.
The period piece, set in the Indus Valley Civilization, will be Hrithik Roshan's first release since 2014's
Bang Bang! and co-stars Pooja Hegde, Arunoday Singh and Kabir Bedi.
Hrithik's 2017 film
Kaabil will also
clash at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan's
Raees and Ajay Devgn's
Baadshaho next January.
