In the 2014 General Election, Maneka Gandhi was elected from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh. She contested on a ticket from BJP and received 5,46,934 votes. Her closest opponent was Budhsen Verma from Samajwadi Party who received 2,39,882 votes.
In the 2009 elections, the seat was won by Feroze Varun Gandhi, son of Maneka Gandhi, who received 4,19,539 votes. His closest opponent was V.M. Singh from Congress who received 1,38,038 votes.
Mohan Swaroop was elected on a PSP ticket in 1957, 1962, and 1967, and then elected again in 1971 on a Congress ticket. In 1977, Mohd. Shamusul Hasan Khan was elected on a BLD ticket.
In 1980, Harish Kumar Gangwar was elected on a Congress ticket. Then in 1984, Bhanu Pratap Singh was elected on a ticket from Congress. In 1989, Maneka Gandhi was elected on a ticket from Janta Dal. In 1991, Parashuram was elected on a BJP ticket. In 1996, Maneka Gandhi won from Pilibhit on a ticket from Janta Dal.
Maneka Gandhi then won from Pilibhit in the next two General Elections (1998, 1999) as an independent candidate and in 2004 she was again elected on a BJP ticket.
For General Election 2019, BJP has fielded Feroze Varun Gandhi and Samajwadi Party has fielded Hemraj Verma.
There are five assembly segments under the Pilibhit constituency. These include Baheri, Barkhera, Bisalpur, Pilibhit, and Puranpur.
