In the 2014 General Election, BJP candidate Rajesh Kumar Diwaker was elected to parliament from Hathras seat in Uttar Pradesh. Rajesh Kumar Diwaker received 5,44,277 votes and won by a margin of 3,26,386 votes against his closest opponent Manoj Kumar Soni who contested on a ticket from BSP and received 2,17,891 votes.
In the 2009 General Election, RLD candidate Sarika Singh won from Hathras with 2,47,927 votes. Her closest opponent was Rajendra Kumar who received 2,11,075 votes.
The voter turnout in Hathras in 2014 was 59.66 per cent, an improvement from the voter turnout in 2009 General Elections when the voter turnout was only 45.10 per cent.
Prior to Sarika Singh's win in 2009, Hathras seat remained with BJP from 1991 to 2004. In 1991, Lal Bahadur Rawal won from this seat, followed by Kishan Lal Diler in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004.
For the 2019 General Elections, Rajvir Diler has been fielded by BJP, Ramji Lal Suman is the Samajwadi Party's ticket, and Triloki Ram is the Congress candidate from Hathras parliamentary constituency. The Hathras seat is reserved for members from the scheduled castes.
There are 5 Assembly segments under the Hathras parliamentary constituency. These include Iglas, Charra, Hathras, Sikandararau, and Sadabad.
