In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Akshay Yadav from Samajwadi Party was elected from Firozabad seat in Uttar Pradesh. He received 5,34,583 votes. His closest opponent was Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel from BJP who received 4,20,524 votes.
In the 2009 elections, Firozabad seat was claimed by Akhilesh Yadav, who contested on a ticket from Samajwadi Party. He received 2,87,011 votes while his closest rival, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, contesting on a ticket from BSP, received 2,19,710 votes.
In the 1957 election, Brij Raj Singh, an independent candidate, was elected from Firozabad. In 1962, Shambhu Nath Chaturvedi from Congress was elected. In the 1967 elections, S.C. Lal from SSP was elected to parliament.
In 1971, Chhatrapati Ambesh from Congress was elected. Then in 1977, Ramji Lal Suman won the seat for BLD. In 1980, Rajesh Kumar Singh, an independent candidate, won the Firozabad seat.
Then in 1984 the seat went back to Congress whose candidate Ganga ram was elected from Firozabad constituency.
In 1989, Ramji Lal Suman was elected on a Janta Dal ticket. In 1991, 1996, and 1998, Prabhu Dayal Katheria from BJP was elected. In 1999 and 2004, Ramji Lal Suman was elected on a SP ticket.
In the General Election 2019, BJP has fielded Dr. Chandra Sen Jadon against the incumbent MP Akshay Yadav who is again SP's candidate.
