In the 2014 General Election, Ashok Kumar Doharey from BJP was elected from the Etawah constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He received 4,39,646 votes as opposed to his closest opponent Premdas Kateriya, SP candidate, who received 2,66,700 votes.
In the 2009 General Election, Premdas Kateriya from SP was elected from Etawah. He received 2,78,776 votes. His closest opponent was Gaurishankar from BSP who received 2,32,030 votes.
In the 1971 General Election, Shree Shankar Tewari was elected from Etawah on a ticket from INC. Then in 1977, Arjun Singh Bhadoria was elected on a ticket from BLD. In the 1980 elections, Ram Singh Shakya from JNP (S) was elected.
In 1984 General Election, Raghuraj Singh was elected from Etawah on a ticket from INC. In 1989, Ram Singh Shakya returned to parliament but on a ticket from JD.
In 1991 General Election, Kanshi Ram from BSP was elected from Etawah constituency. In 1996, Ram Singh Shakya was elected, this time on a ticket issued by Samajwadi Party.
In 1998 elections, Sukhda Mishra was elected on a BJP ticket. Then in 1999, Raghuraj Singh Shakya from SP was elected from Etawah. He returned to parliament in 2004, again on a ticket issued by SP.
The 2019 General Election in Etawah were held in the fourth phase. In this election, BJP fielded Dr. Ram Shankar Katheria, Congress fielded Ashok Kumar Dohare, and SP candidate was Kamlesh Kumar. There were total 13 candidates contesting from Etawah.
There are five assembly segments under Etawah Lok Sabha constituency. These include Etawah, Bharthana, Dibiyapur, Auraiya, and Sikandra.
