In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Rajveer Singh from BJP was elected from the Etah seat in Uttar Pradesh. He received 4,74,978 votes. His closest opponent was Ku. Devendra Singh Yadav who received 2,73,977 votes.
The Etah seat has never been under the stronghold of one particular party, though BJP has won the seat for four consecutive elections.
In 1957, Rohan Lal from Congress was elected from Etah followed by Bishan Chandra Seth from Hindu Maha Sabha. Rohan Lal, then returned to parliament from Etah on a Congress ticket in 1967 and 1971. In 1977, Mahadeepak Singh from BLD was elected.
In 1980, Malik Mohammad Mishir A. Khan from Congress was elected. In 1984, Muhammad Mehfooj Ali Khan from Lok Dal was elected.
In 1989, 1991, 1996, and 1998 elections Mahadeepak Singh from BJP was elected. In 2004, Ku. Devendra Singh Yadav from Samajwadi party was elected and in 2009, Kalyan Singh R O Madholi, an independent candidate, was elected.
For the 2019 General Elections, Rajveer Singh, the incumbent MP, will contest on a ticket from BJP while Samajwadi Party has fielded Ku. Devendra Singh Yadav.
There are five assembly segments under the Etah parliamentary constituency. These include Kasganj, Marhara, Amanpur, Patiyali, and Etah.
