In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Jagdambika Pal was elected from Domariyaganj in Uttar Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. He won with 2,98,845 votes defeating Muhammad Muqeem of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) by a margin of 1,03,588 votes.
In 2009 elections, Jagdambika Pal was elected from an Indian National Congress (INC) ticket by securing 2,29,872 votes (31.24 per cent of the total votes polled in the constituency) , defeating Jai Pratap Singh of the BJP who received 1,53,306 votes (20.83 per cent).
There are five assembly seats under the constituency: Domariyaganj, Shohratgarh, Kapilvastu, Bansi and Itwa.
Voting for the Domariyaganj constituency was conducted in the sixth phase of general elections 2019 on May 12.
For the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Jagdambika Pal is contesting on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. The Indian National Congress has fielded Chandresh Kumar Upadhyay, and Aftab Alam is contesting on a Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
