In the 2014 General Election, BJP’s Bhola Singh was elected from the Bulandshahr seat in Uttar Pradesh. He received 6,04,449 votes. His closest opponent was Pradeep Kumar Jatav, contesting on a ticket from BSP, who received 1,82,479 votes.
In the General Elections held in 1962, Surendra pal Singh from Congress was elected from Bulandshahr. He was elected twice again, in 1967 and 1971, on a Congress ticket. Then in 1977, BLD candidate Mahmood Hassan Khan was elected from Bulandshahr. Mahmood Hassan Khan was elected again in 1980 but on a JNP (S) ticket.
In 1984, Kr. Surendra pal was elected on a congress ticket. In 1989, Janta Dal candidate Sarvar Husain was elected.
In 1991, 1996, and 1998 General Elections Chhattarpal from BJP was elected to parliament from Bulandshahr. In the 2004 election, Kalyan Singh from BJP was elected followed by election of Kamlesh from Samajwadi Party in 2009.
There are five assembly segments under the Bulandshahr parliamentary constituency. These include Shikarpur, Syana, Bulandshahr, Dibai, and Anoopshahar.
In General election 2019, BJP has fielded the sitting MP Bhola Singh, Banshi Singh has been fielded by Congress, and Yogesh Verma is BSP’s candidate.
