In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Savitri Bai Phule was elected from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. She received 4,32,392 votes. Her closest opponent was Shabbir Ahmad from SP who received 3,36,747 votes. Savitri Bai Phule won the constituency by a margin of 95,645 votes.
In the 2009 general elections, the Bahraich seat was won by Kamal Kishor of the Congress. In the 2004 general elections, the Bahraich parliamentary seat was won by Rubab Sayeda of the SP and her runner up was Bhagat Ram Mishra of the BSP.
The Bahraich parliamentary constituency consists of five Vidhan Sabha seats: Balha, Nanpara, Matera, Mahasi and Bahraich.
Voting for the Bahraich seat was concluded in the fifth phase of elections on May 6.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP fielded Akshaibar Lal, the Congress party's candidate is Savitri Bai Phule, and the Mahagathbandhan has fielded Shabbir Balmik on an SP ticket.
