In the 2014 General Elections, Dharmendra Kumar from BJP was elected from the Aonla seat in Uttar Pradesh. He received 4,09,907 votes. His closest opponent was Kunwar Sarvaraj Singh from Samajwadi Party who received 2,71,478 votes.
In the 2009 General Elections, BJP candidate Menka Gandhi had won from the Aonla seat. She had won by a steep margin of only 7681 votes against her closest opponent Dharmendra Kumar from Samajwadi Party.
In the 1967 and 1971 election, Savitri Shyam was elected form Aonla on a Congress ticket. In 1977, Brij Raj Singh from BLD was elected. In 1980, Jaipal Singh Kashyap from JNP (S) was elected. In 1984, Kalyan Singh Solanki was elected on a Congress ticket.
In 1989 and 1991 Raj Veer Singh was elected on a BJP ticket. In 1996, Kunwar Sarvaraj Singh was elected on an SP ticket. In 1998, Rajveer Singh returned to parliament on BJP ticket. In 1999, Kunwar Sarvaraj Singh was elected on an SP ticket. He returned to parliament in 2004 but on a ticket from JD (U).
For the General Election 2019, Dharmendra Kashyap has been fielded by BJP. Ruchivira is BSP’s candidate and Kunwar Sarvraj Singh has been fielded by Congress.
There are five assembly segments under the Aonla Parliamentary constituency. These include Dataganj, Aonla, Sheikhpur, Bithri Chainpur, and Fareedpur.
