New Delhi:
A 34-year-old man allegedly stabbed to death his wife in front of his minor son here in a fit of rage after an argument with her, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in Vijay Vihar on Wednesday night and the deceased has been identified as Chhoti. Her husband Amarjeet Sahni is absconding.
Chhoti was stabbed on her chest allegedly by Amarjeet following the argument. Amarjeet fled the scene soon after the incident.
The incident came to light as their neighbour Kamlesh saw Amarjeet running away from home at around 11 pm. Kamlesh then went to the house and saw Chhoti lying in a pool of blood.
Kamlesh alerted neighbours who informed police. Chhoti was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital where she succumbed during treatment.
"Their four-and-a-half-year-old son told police that his father killed his mother after an argument," a senior police official said.
Amarjeet is a native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
