A 71-year-old woman was killed while her husband injured after an SUV allegedly hit multiple vehicles before knocking down the couple near Kailash Colony Metro Station in south Delhi's Greater Kailash-I, police said on Monday.
A PCR call regarding the accident was received at Greater Kailash-I police station on Sunday, following which police reached the spot and the injured couple was shifted to Moolchand Hospital.
The woman, identified as Shashi, was declared brought dead at the hospital, while her husband Kulbhushan (65), who had sustained injuries, was later declared fit to give a statement, police said.
A case under relevant sections 281 (rash driving), 125(a) (act endangering life or public safety of others) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered, police said, adding the accused driver has been arrested.
