MBA student's death case: Cops await forensic report

Ahmedabad: The Sarkhej police are yet to decide their line of investigation in the case involving the death of MBA student, Priyanka Ramanuj. Priyanka's body was recently fished out of a canal in Gota, close to the SG Highway. A senior police officer told DNA that they are waiting for the forensic report.

"Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide but we are waiting for the FSL report before deciding the line of investigation," the police officer said.

District superintendent of police, Ahmedabad (rural), Sandip Singh said it was difficult to believe that Priyanka had committed suicide but, at the same time, there is no evidence indicating that she was murdered. "We are keeping both possibilities in mind in our investigation of the case," he said.

The police are yet to identify the mobile network location of Priyanka's phone and get the call details from it. "Investigation is going on and we are trying to get to the bottom of the case," a source in the police said. Meanwhile, Priyanka's father, Chandrakant Ramanuj, believes his daughter was abducted and murdered.

Talking to reporters, Chandrakant said his daughter was strong and had faced several difficulties with courage. "There was no reason for her to commit suicide," he said.

Priyanka's decomposed body was found in a canal near Gota but her mobile phone and other belongings were said to be missing. She had been missing since October 21.
