Volkswagen India has officially announced its plan for the calendar year 2026. The ambitious roadmap brings forth a product offensive consisting of five new models. As per the announcement, the automaker plans to bring a new product every quarter. These models will represent the German manufacturer across various segments and body styles covered SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks.

Initiating the series of launches in the Indian market will be the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. The SUV will represent the brand against models like Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq RS.

The Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 204 hp of power and 320 Nm of peak torque. This power is routed to an all-wheel-drive system using a seven-speed DSG transmission. It is to be noted that the SUV will be brought to India via the CKD route.

While the rest of the lineup has not been officially confirmed, we expect the list to include the refreshed versions of the Taigun and Virtus from the current lineup. These models have been on sale in the country for a while. However, they are in need of an update. Currently, the automaker is preparing the facelift versions for the launch, and they have been spied testing on different occasions.

Another addition to the list is likely the ID.Polo, which will represent the brand among premium electric vehicles. Additionally, the brand is expected to bring the Volkswagen Tera to the sub-4m SUV category. It will likely represent the brand against models like Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Upon launch, it might also become the most affordable model of the brand in the country.
